If your Gen4 powertrain came from a vehicle with manual mode already enabled no tuning is usually required. Both stock manual modes – ERS or DSC – are supported. Manual mode activation is supported for both switch (electric) and mechanical (shifter) activation. You or your tuner can change the manual modes in your vehicle’s TCM.
With the Tap-N-Cruise you have unlimited choices of controls for manual mode – from a DIY toggle switch to factory shifters to aftermarket paddle shifters. No additional wiring to the transmission’s TCM is required because the control is done over the High Speed GMLAN network.
Shift points, shift quality, RPM and vehicle speed limits are set in the TCM and not modified by the Tap-N-Cruise.
The optional OLED DIC display shows current operating gear, shift mode, and shift direction for both normal and manual modes.
